The Micro Oil Skimmer ® is a very lightweight floating weir skimmer that can be set up in a wide variety of situations. Above is an example where quick, economical and effective oil separation is achieved in tanks with changing levels. To reduce emulsification, flow rate can be kept very low (e.g. 100 l/hr) however the flow rate can be as high as 5000 l/hr. The Micro Oil Skimmer can even work using a siphon. We recommend positive displacement pumps such as double diaphragm or helical pumps as these tend to cause less emulsification of the liquids during processing Every installation will have its own specific needs depending upon the size of tanks, pumps etc and the characteristics of liquids that are being separated. See the diagram above for one method of installation for the Micro Oil Skimmer in order to gain an understanding of the basic principles of setting up a floating skimmer. | ||
