The Dragonfly Micro Oil Skimmer ® came into being in 1998 when The Dragonfly Super Skimmer ®, a floating automatic pool cleaner had caught the attention of an Australian company engaged in the manufacture of vertical gravity oil separators. Enquiries were made to us about using the pool cleaning skimmer for primary oil separation. As a result of this, our attention was turned to oily waste water and the design of a small self adjusting floating weir oil skimmer that is now being used all over the world.

The New Inventors 'People's Choice Award' for the most popular invention (as voted by the million or more ABC TV viewers that regularly watch the program) was won by Sydney Brothers Robbert and Max Plink for their Dragonfly Super Skimmer.
Powerhouse Museum Exhibition
The Dragonfly Micro Oil Skimmer ® and the Dragonfly Super Skimmer were also invited to become part of the watts n drops exhibit at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney Australia.
This exhibition was opportunity for the general public and businesses to check out the latest water and energy-saving innovations. Getting water wise and energy smart.
